As we have written about before Ubud is a hub of delicious places to eat. On our second visit we stumbled upon a side street we hadn’t been to before; Jalan Gootama. It reminded us a little of where we lived in London as it was absolutely brimming with cafes, local warungs, pancake houses and vegan/raw food restaurants – all so full to the rafters you could feel the atmosphere! It was our second from last day in Ubud and we couldn’t believe we had only just found it!
We wandered along trying to decide which place to eat in as they all looked so inviting. We settled on Dewa Warung for its cheap prices and somewhere that looked so busy had to be good!
We squeezed into a spot on one of the benches and got ordering – its communal style dining here but don’t be afraid everyone is very social! We got chatting and ended up spending all night talking to a couple from Australia about how incredible Durian is….We still aren’t convinced ;)!
Josh ordered Nasi Campur and I a Spicy Chicken dish. Both were absolutely delicious and some of the best food we have eaten in Indonesia so far – and for around 20k per dish, really great value!
For such fantastic food and atmosphere this place is a must visit. In fact, we went back the next night too as it really was that good!
Go go go, enjoy!
